Vision and Mission
Parappur Grama Panchayat, located adjacent to Vengara Block in Malappuram district, is a region where agricultural tradition meets natural beauty. Formed in 1956, this panchayat is crossing new milestones in development through decentralized planning and transparent governance. The project documents for the upcoming 2026-27 financial year clearly outline the future development goals of the panchayat.
Vision
The primary vision of the panchayat is to transform Parappur into a model village through comprehensive development and economic self-reliance. The panchayat aims to elevate the standard of living of its residents through the advancement of the agricultural sector, superior public health, scientific waste management, and women empowerment.
Mission
To realize the development vision of the panchayat, the following missions have been envisioned:
Agricultural Self-Reliance: Make the agricultural sector the backbone of the panchayat by continuing paddy cultivation development projects, implementing the 'Haritha Gramam' (Green Village) project through the distribution of fruit saplings, and renovating agriculture offices.
Health and Social Welfare: Strengthen the operations of Family Health Centers (FHCs), ensure the availability of medicines, and provide better facilities for children with special needs through Buds Schools.
Women Empowerment and Livelihood: Create self-employment opportunities for women through Kudumbashree and increase women's participation in local economic development.
Infrastructure Development: Create improved travel and living conditions through scientific road construction, repairs, and ensuring drinking water availability.
Waste-Free Village: Achieve complete sanitation village status by expanding the activities of the Haritha Karma Sena and streamlining non-biodegradable waste collection and processing.
Transparent Governance: Uphold the principles of people's planning and deliver government services to the public quickly through digital systems.
